Justice is excited to bring her public health expertise to Blueprint and continue to learn and grow along the way. She worked with local non-profits to address these barriers by providing healthy meals on a regular basis to unhoused populations who found short term respite. During her time with Kaiser and working with the unhoused population, she became more aware of the food insecurities that exist across the Denver-metro area. The emphasis of her work was around housing and homelessness as well as intergenerational trauma and healing. Most recently, she completed a year long fellowship with the American Public Health Association and Kaiser Permanente focusing on community health. Her aim is to utilize the social determinants of health to bridge the gaps that have that have been created through systemic barriers. Her passion in public health is to serve underrepresented communities as an advocate and ally. She earned her Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health and Global Health. Justice comes to Blueprint as an emerging public health professional. In her free time, Dana enjoys running, teaching and practicing yoga, meditation, traveling, and hiking. She is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher and did her first teacher training in Cusco, Peru. Before working in local government, Dana worked for several nonprofit organizations throughout the mountains of Colorado. Previously, she worked for Garfield County Public Health managing a variety of grant funded programs and projects focusing on community engagement, health equity, food access, the built environment, and COVID-19 vaccine equity. She implements grantee selection processes in collaboration with community, provides technical assistance to leverage the Blueprint network, and is the Blueprint liaison for Work Group 2/3. She works closely with community members, partners, and the Blueprint team to ensure that funds are distributed equitably and meet community needs. Dana administers the Food Pantry Assistance Grant and other project funds granted to the Blueprint.
